Rango wins best Animated Film at BAFTAs

Rango last night picked up the award for Best Animated Film at the glittering BAFTAs award ceremony held at London's Covent Garden.
The BAFTAs are generally considered a pretty accurate bellweather for the Oscars, and all the stars were out in force to see The Artist pretty much sweep the board, winning in seven of the 11 categories in which it was nominated.
However, the Animated Film category was mercifully free from The Artist's threat, leaving Rango to battle it out with Arthur Christmas and The Adventures of Tintin for the coveted gong.
Rango's victory was the latest in a rich vein of success for Gore Verbinski's production, which has picked up the Best Animation award on more than 10 occasions during award season, and is hotly tipped to add to its tally at the Oscars later this month.
Meanwhile, Grant Orchard's A Morning Stroll picked up the award for Best Short Animation.
