Disney Junior runs Jake’s third season alongside toy launch

Jake and the Never Land Pirates continues on Disney Junior

The hit series Jake and the Never Land Pirates will continue to run for its third season on Disney’s Junior channel. Disney Consumer Products has revealed that more than 130 toys will be launched this year, inspired by Jake and other series on the children’s channel, including Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Minnie’s Bow-toon.

The popular kid-pirate series is rated number one with boys aged two to five, and has reached more than 110 million viewers worldwide. Aired in more than 166 countries, in 35 languages, the programme runs daily and will hit its 100th episode this year.

Following the adventures of kid pirates Jake, Izzy, Cubby and Skully as they mischievously toy with classic characters Captain Hook and Mister Smee – from Disney’s feature film Peter PanJake and the Never Land Pirates has become something of an instant classic.

It will be June that sees the toy line released, featuring plush role play and accessories from Just Play and action figures from Fisher-Price. Jake’s Pirate Ship, Bucky, will also be joining the line up of consumer goods.

"The series is connecting with kids on every level and brings them closer to characters they're already familiar with and introduces them to new, original characters they have made their friends," said Nancy Kanter, Senior VP of Original Programming and GM of Disney Junior Worldwide, following the announcement of the show’s third season launch.
