Catch last showings of BAA Public Choice Award

British Animation Awards Public Choice screening

The British Animation Awards Public Choice screenings are in full swing across the UK, but there's still a chance to catch some of the short films being shown in the Public Choice Programme, which begins on Friday February 17.

Airing at the BFI Southbank and as part of Animated Exeter at the Exeter Phoenix, this Public Choice provides an opportunity for viewers to see Grant Orchard's BAFTA Award-winning short A Morning Stroll in full, among other highly rated shorts.

After each programme, the audience is being asked to pick their preferred choice in each of the three categories: music videos, commercials and short films. There are more than 45 films to choose from, ranging from stop frame and 2D animation to CGI. Works have been hand-picked by experts in the industry, and the selection includes productions from recent graduates right through to established artists – including Barry Purves' Tchaikovsky – An elegy – and covering topics ranging from the whimsical to the serious.

“Britain is a power house when it comes to producing exceptional talent across all styles of animation," says Jayne Pilling, Director of the British Animation Awards. "The Public Choice selection offers a snapshot of some of the outstanding pieces of work created over the past couple of years, and gives the public a chance to vote for their favourites.”
