Calling all amateur CG stars!

CG Whiz competition

Escape studios are running a competition, CG Whiz, to seek out the ‘future stars’ of the CG industry.

There are £20,000 worth of prizes on offer, including a 12-week course at Escape Studios and a 12-week placement at The Mill.

2010’s competition was well received, with over 200 applicants. New for 2011 is an additional category, ‘young professionals’, for those who have been working in the industry for up to three years, which will run alongside the ‘amateurs’ category. The first prizes in both categories (and second prize in the amateur category) are voted for by an expert panel. There is also a users choice prize, voted for by site members.

The judging panel includes Escape’s CEO Dominic Davenport, as well as industry experts made up from the competitions sponsors – Autodesk, Hewlett Packard, CG Society, 3D Artist and Digital Artist

Closing date for the competition is November 12. See the website for more information, or watch the handy video listed below.
