The Animation School

The Animation School is South Africa’s leading internationally accredited animation and visual effects training centre. It has a proven track record of consistently producing qualified digital animators with practical skills in the creation of 3D-animation. Nestled under the splendor of Table Mountain in South Africa’s mother city, Cape Town, this light and bright modern venue is producing some of this country’s foremost talent in the animation arena. Cape Town has a thriving film industry, not to mention a burgeoning commercial and photographic business, and animation is a vital cog in this vast media machine. Since July 2000 the Animation School, has been taking young creatives and turning them into world-class animators, with an Emmy award-winning graduate and recently the New York Festivals Television & Film Awards Gold Award winners to prove it.

Instructors are carefully selected to be both highly qualified and have a diverse range of production experience. At The Animation School, teaching from a textbook is simply not good enough. The core staff includes award-winning professionals who have excelled in both digital 3D and classical animation techniques, with visiting instructors and regular presentations from local and international studies, ensuring that the students are always on the cutting edge of trends and requirements that make up this constantly changing industry.
