Speed Racer Unveiled

The Mach 5 vehicle from the upcoming live action movie version of cult cartoon 'Speed Racer' has been revealed at AintItCool.com. The film, the first to be directed by the Wachowski Brothers since their work on the 'Matrix' trilogy, will see the brothers reunited with effects supremo John Gaeta. The principal cast for the movie has also been unveviled. Matthew Fox ('Lost') will play Racer X, Emile Hirsch takes the role of Speed, Christina Ricci will be Trixie, Susan Sarandon will play Mom Racer and John Goodman will play Pops Racer. Shooting on the film begins this week. It's due to premiere on May 9th, 2008.
